This is the kind of holiday for people like you: well travelled, interested in different cultures, wanting to be outdoor in remote places, passionate about the challenge of learning something new every day, yet enjoying all the conforts of a luxury tented camp.
The training from 19-26 December, 2010/ 20-27th December 2011 will introduce you to the Maasai world, with nature-identifying walks and warrior instruction. You'll have a truly unique Christmas eve, spending the night out in the savannah with the warriors, dining under the stars and sharing experiences and adventures around an open fire. On Christmas day you will come back to the camp for Christmas lunch and for a Maasai ceremony that will continue all evening. The elders will come to give their blessing to our guests and the warriors will sing and dance with you. During the week you will learn,among other things:
- Fighting techniques with traditional weapons and bare-handed
- How to treat ailments naturally using plants and tree barks
- How to find drinking water during periods of drought and how to light a fire in the bush
- How to track animals and approach wild animals safely
The New Year’s training lasts five days, 28th December- 1st January 2011 and 29th- 2nd January 2012, and includes a celebration of the new year with Maasai songs and dances and the blessing of the elders on New Year's Eve, as well as
- Traditional weapons & fighting techniques
- Animal tracking and safely approaching wild animals
- Traditional dances and songs
For both programs the whole camp can be booked (maximum eight people) so the holidays can be spent with family and friends.
